Oinking on the River is a dedicated and decorated competition barbecue team based in the Memphis, Tennessee area. 2010 marks our 11th year of competition in the series of Memphis Barbecue Network sanctioned cooking events, including the World Championships held during Memphis In May. This year we placed 14th (out of 118 teams) but our recent highlights include earning the Third Place Trophy for Ribs at the Memphis In May World Championships in 2007, the Third Place Trophy for Ribs at the 36th Annual World's Oldest BBQ Contest in 2008, and being named Grand Champion of Tipton County, Tennessee in October 2008 at the competition in Covington. (Please see our Awards page for the complete list of awards and trophies which now no longer fit on our two display tables.) We had a blast in 2009, look forward to seeing all of our competition neighbors, including and especially Papa Pig and the Posse and The Mighty Swiners in 2010, and meeting and making new friends whereever the road takes us. Thanks to everyone who helped make 2009 a great year and we'll see you on the competition circuit.
