Following a disappointing showing at Memphis In May, Oinking on the River comes storming back continuing the 2006 competition season with three wins at the Tennessee State Championship Cooking Contest. Taking home the 1st Place Trophy for BBQ Sauce, the 3rd Place Trophy for Ribs, and the 1st Place Trophy for Red Beans & Rice the Oinking team wishes to express our gratitude to the organizers and judges at the Tennessee Funfest for giving us the opportunity to do what we do best.

"Memphis In May was tough to take." Team member and rib specialist Alan Geren told reporters covering the event after the awards ceremony. "We're an extremely competitive group and to come away with nothing at the premier pork barbecue competion on the planet was hard for all of us. But you know we didn't let it get to us. JR and myself got together afterward and made the decision to simply step it up, to get back to basics and take back the momentum. And we're especially proud of Terri who, after two years in a row at 2nd place, stepped it up as well taking the big trophy for her awesome red beans and rice."

The Oinking team also placed 4th in the Chili competition and 5th in the Seafood competition. Congratulations team!
