Oinking on the River is pleased to announce that at the First Annual True Blue BBQ Contest the team was crowned Grand Champion after a near sweep of the major competition categories. Our awards included 4th Place Desert, the 3rd Place Trophy for Shoulder, the 1st Place Trophy for Seafood, the 1st Place Trophy for Ribs, and the Grand Champion Ribbon. The Oinking team wishes to express our gratitude to the organizers and judges, and to Gill's Bar & Grill Memphis for making it all possible.

"You know the smaller events are just as much fun as the big ones, if not more so, because there's less stress and pressure on all of us." Returning team member Rick Hocanson said afterward. "When Gill's initially approched us about the event we almost didn't come given that JR and Kellie were going to be out of town for their anniversary weekend. But the rest of us decided that even though this wasn't specifically sanctioned by the MBA we wanted to come and help get this competition started right. Looks like it was the right decision!"
